CHFD307 Week 2 Adolescent Sexual Behavior

Sexual behavior in adolescence can have a wide variety of consequences. In estimation, nearly half of all U.S. high school students have had sexual intercourse; the average age of first intercourse for boys and girls is 15. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an average of 40,000-80,000 new cases of HIV are reported each year; approximately half of the new infections are among people younger than 25. On average, 12 million new cases of sexually transmitted diseases (STD's) being reported each year and adolescents have among the highest-reported rates of gonorrhea and Chlamydia.

Drawing on material from the course, respond to the following questions:

1. What cognitive and social factors contribute to high-risk sexual behavior in some adolescents?
2. Some schools teach outdated sex education programs. Explain why these programs are still implemented, regardless of research.

Instructions: Write an essay using the guidelines below. Background:  Throughout the world, there are numerous environmental problems resulting from human population pressure on local natural resources. A large proportion of ecological research is dedicated to finding solutions to these issues.

 

Objectives: Upon completing this assignment, you should be able to describe in-depth an ecological issue, including at least two different perspectives, and how this issue is representative of other similar issues. 

 

Procedure: Pick an ecological crisis anywhere in the world that has attracted significant attention. Explain the history of the event including how the situation reached a crisis point. Document as many sides of the situation as possible and include the resolution, if any was reached, of the crisis. If there was no resolution, speculate on how the crisis may be resolved in the future.

The HR manager of compensation and benefits, the new leadership team resulting from the merger, has come to you with concerns pertaining to the current compensation policies. The senior leadership team has specifically expressed concern over the ability of the organization to hire and retain a competitive workforce due to outdated policies. Your task is to research and develop an updated compensation philosophy that aligns with the new core values of the organization, which focus on customer service, quality production, employee recruitment, and retention. You have been given 3 months to complete your analysis and present your recommendations to the leadership team.

Your presentation should include the following considerations:

· What is the role and benefit to an organization of a compensation plan?

· Provide a minimum of 3 factors to consider in identifying the needs of a compensation package.

· What type of pay system do you recommend and why? Review the pay theories in Chapter 6 of your course textbook, and identify the 1 that bests support your pay system recommendation.

· In addition to your pay recommendation, provide 2 additional policy recommendations. Include in your recommendation the legal implications that you have considered in making your recommendations.
